CE Search and Replace
The Search toolbar in the Content Editor window allows searching for text within your content, and for replacing the found text with new text.Searching
Click in the Search field of the toolbar, and enter the text you wish to find.
As you type, matching text in your content will be specially highlighted. The first of these (in left-to-right, top-to-bottom order) is the "current search result" and is highlighted differently than the rest.
You can use the > and < buttons (or their keyboard shortcuts ⌘G and Shift-⌘G) to find the next or previous search result. As you do, the editor table will scroll if necessary to display the current result.
Search Options
Select the A/a checkbox to switch between case-insensitive and case-sensitive searching.
Use the popup menu to limit what text in a cell is found:
- Match Any - Find any matching text within each cell. (Searching for "cat" will match those characters within "catch".)
- Match Word - Find full words that match. (Searching for "cat" won't find "catch".)
- Match All - Only entire cells will be matched. (Only cells whose entire text is "cat" will be matched.)
Replacing
After performing a search, enter replacement text in the Replace field. Then use the Replace & Find or Replace All buttons to replace found text.
Replace & Find replaces only the current search result.
Replace All replaces all found text.
You can always undo any replacement actions if you need to.
